Memories of chestnut fencing and a Austin Ruby

When I was a boy we had a chestnut fence
like this at home, with a vacant plot of land
the other side dad and the old boy over the
back of us grow vegetables  also kept ducks,
geese, turkeys, and the best of all we had a
camp to play in.

The field is now built on.
This is me and my sister on our trolly
in the field and dads car a Austin Ruby

may 26th: thoughts

sometimes i want to hide in the minds of others
as i have no real desire
to be in my own

sometimes i want to pretend the world is on fire
and frantically find beauty in all its forms
just so i can watch it burn

May 17th: toothpaste with an inferiority complex

not the best picture ever, but something appealed to me about the toothpaste being towered above and shared between four tall toothbrushes

This very rare butterfly gone never to be seen again

As I pushed my way through the thick over hanging Rhododendrons,
out of the corner of my eye, in the twilight of the warm spring evening, I caught
a glimpse of a large silvery white lustrous butterfly.
Then as I looked again and with disappointment realized, it had never been
anything more than two beautiful leaves.

may 15th: lunch

leftover pizza, intended to be tomorrows lunch, and the only lazy food option i have made while my girlfriend has been away, to make up for it i served it up with some salad and a homemade coleslaw

may 14th: Akira The Don in Wimbledon

i took a few photos of Akira The Don's support slot for MC Lars but kept reminding myself i should really watch the gig with my own eyes instead of keep snapping away

this was my favourite photo

may 11th: wallflower

my attept at a hanging basket was a lot fuller than my girlfriend's, but i must have misjudged how it would hang which resulted in one of the bedding plants being pressed up against the wall

despite this i was surprised to see it blooming and felt proud of it's determination

May 10th: stairs that the blind can see

a tremendous amount of money was raised and paid for these steps in Bush Hill Park that look just like any other steps, but apparently they are better for blind people than normal steps

sadly i can't find an article to link to regarding these bizarre claims

May 9th: post office enquiries

i'm not quite sure how this hazard taped box that is missing it's switch is supposed to answer anyone's enquiries at Enfield Town's sorting office

may 8th: king george's playing field

taken whilst riding my bike through King George's playing fields, without stopping, out came the phone, kept peddling and a quick snap of a nice day

may 8th: imaginatively named road

on the way back from heathrow after dropping my girlfriend off at silly o'clock and we passed this road sign whilst pulled up at traffic lights, obviously a lot of thought must have gone into the naming of this particular road

may 8th: circles overhead

extremely tired after being forced out of bed at ten to 5 to accompany my girlfriend to the airport and wary of being mistaken for a terrorist plotter, i couldn't resist these imposing large circles that hung from the ceiling of Heathrow so quickly pulled my phone out and got a shot of them before anyone thought i was planning anything untoward

Was in Hertfrod yesterday

But sadly no time for quiet  reflection
yesterdays Sod it Blog soaked up time like any thing on the computer does
leaving me thinking I was running late for a meeting in welwyn garden city
When fact I got there 1 1/2 hours early
thats what happens when I try to remember times etcetera instead of using the diary
and then you have to factor in public transport

A tranquil spot, St John's Street, Hertford.

A tranquil spot to stop and reflect,
The Immaculate Conception and St Joseph,
It’s a Roman Catholic church, and is open to walk
around, something I acationly do if in the town.
I’m not particularly religious, but it gives me time to
remember my departed mum and dad.
