august 12th: Sun Street
It is a shame to see so many shops and pubs shut down throughout Waltham Abbey, the result of a downturn in our economy, leaving mostly empty shop windows and making what was a quaint and quiet little town even quieter
above is one of a number of mosaics that line Sun Street, the main street in Waltham Abbey, showing signs of ageing and wear and tear and desperately in need of renovation, much like the town itself

august 9th: in preparation for apple pie
got home from work to find these four apples balanced upon the kitchen scales and couldn't resist a quick shot of them

august 9th: where there's smoke
waking up to the news on tuesday morning that the Sony warehouse and distribution centre in Enfield Lock had gone up in flames the night before
the industrial estate is probably no more than 10 minutes walk from my home and thick black smoke was clearly visible from our house, and for miles around

august 7th: Enfield and I
I am fiercely proud of my home town,
Enfield is part of who I am,
I am a part of Enfield,
And an attack on Enfield,
Is an attack on me.
As the tension mounts,
And ill feeling hangs heavy in the air,
I can't shake the involuntary feeling of excitement,
Mixing with sickness.
Tonight we make history together,
As I pray that everything historic,
Everything beautiful,
Everything and everyone I love,
Doesn't burn down to the ground.
It is all eyes on us tonight,
As we bunker down in our homes,
And make it a night to remember,
With our updates and our outrage,
Trending, reporting and cowering,
As the same four clips of footage,
Repeat over and over on Sky News.

august 6th: tomatoes in my garden
the first signs of ripening on the tomatoes that i have been growing in my garden, since my dad gave me three small plants that he in turn had been given, and have been grown in a grow bag purchased from the pound shop
