The Building Of St. George's Tower.

St. George's Tower.

An Architectural Review @ byford 365
Built in the year 2011 this commemorates the life of
the patron saint of England  St. George.
In our building industry we have a substantial
amount of Polish workers lets not for get the Irish
who have done and still do a fantastic job involving
hard graft This is reflected in the materials used in the
construction of this iconic land mark.

Toilet Water May Be ???

We think we know why it’s there, but it is only a guess.
Some times we jump to conclusions, don't we.
What did the person waiting out side think I was
photographing, as the cameras click echoed, and the flash bounced around the little room, with the ill fitting door.

The third annual UK Independent Record Store Day.
To many thoughts rushing  into my head from days spent
in Disc Land,at the old pond cheshunt,in 1970's often wonder, where Jim the manager then, is now days

I have been lucky I have never had to ride that imaginary train to hell every day. My work as always had its rewards, monetary and friendship, I suppose must come at the top, and  their was the perks, dose this make it gold plated, beginning to sound that way, those perks all the paper I ever needed for the boys to drawer and right on, all off cuts destined for the waste bin. Also we had heaps of pallets again for the boys, to play on, along side their climbing frame.
Such memories of fun its all in past now but not forgotten.

april 11th: the town is awake

the town is awake,
rearing it's sleeping head and thrusting it's denizens into the light,
a community that glistens with necessity under the new spring sky,
and a sun that shines regardless on a day that's hardly started.

a whimsical poem, thought up as i neared work this morning.

lovely big old shabby green box

This cast iron box stands in Park Rd. at the junction of Mandeville Rd. EN3.
( Only the back ground has been altered )

If only it could talk or right a blog or two, now I hear the words super- injunction

april 8th: rescue chair in my garden

a broken and neglected chair that had been dumped down my road by the family that have shutters and locks on all of their windows and doors, and have all their lights on and windows open in the winter, and was rescued by my dad and brother after i'd mentioned looking at it

i'm not quite sure what we'll do with it, we may attempt to repair the leg and restore the colour, but for now it is stood propped up against the wall in our garden

april 8th: conza, british and continental stores

a presumably shut down and forgotten about little local store found whilst wandering the back streets of Enfield Lock and enjoying the sunshine

i think i may have bought penny sweets from here as a kid, having gone to the shop with mylittle brother's mate's little sister

i remember her choosing a handful of penny sweets and scoffing a few extra when the shopkeeper wasn't looking, i was far too straight laced to copy her behaviour
